Hi @ksobers10, After you choose the System Demographics chart, how are you downloading the data? If you click the Data Download button, it should give you the unsuppressed data in an Excel file. If you download the image (the Image Download button), you will get the image as it is (suppressed.) Let us know if you are not getting the unsuppressed data in the Excel file! Thank you! Eva dev team
Hey Genelle!
So, we cannot get a copy of the image with all of the numbers on it? Can I make that request? Since we are able to get the Excel data with the numbers unsuppressed, why can't we get the image with all the numbers showing? I really cannot use the image without all of the numbers showing.
Thanks, Keli

Hi Keli! :)
I will escalate this and see where it lands!
Thank you for submitting the question! Genelle
Thanks, Keli, for raising this up. The question of why data are suppressed in the image export but not the Excel export for the System Demographics chart is a good one. Because Eva gives users powerful flexibility in how they filter and view their community’s system performance data by different demographics, there is a potential risk of individuals being identified in the data when the data is viewed or presented to an audience beyond the HMIS Lead. This is especially true when the population numbers represented in the system performance data are very small.
We recognize that CoCs will need to navigate local and state-level policies that impact how CoCs choose to share and present homelessness data to the larger community. And each CoC is different. What may be a concern in one CoC may not be a concern in another CoC. In an effort to meet this broad range of needs and to ensure the privacy and protection of individuals and small population groups, Eva uses varying levels of data suppression. For the System Demographics chart specifically, this means that suppressed data in the in-app chart is also suppressed in the image export.
To help limit the erasure of vulnerable population groups whose experiences in the homelessness system may be very different from the overall homeless population, Eva does not suppress the data in the Excel version of a chart’s export. With that in mind, it is possible to use the data in the Excel download to create custom charts and visuals to share with a wider audience.
We will keep your request for an unsuppressed image export on the docket, but we currently do not have any plans to make this enhancement in the immediate future.
Thanks for your response. I understand the meaning behind why you are suppressing the data, however, can you leave that security and protection up to us? Can you possibly give us the option to suppress or unsuppress the data? Then we can use that option that is best for us. Also, I know that we can use the Excel data to make our own custom charts, but I thought this was offered to help us and save time. It is not helping as much if we have to do it ourself. Furthermore, I tried to do that and my charts don't look nearly as good as yours. Please take this request under consideration.
Thanks again for your feedback and suggestion, Keli. We will send this to HUD for their review. In the meantime, we'll close this ticket and reach back out to you if we get more information about a decision on this from HUD.
The chart has suppressed values in the visualization. However, it states that when its downloaded the suppressed values will show. I downloaded my visualization and the suppressed values were still showing as ***.
To replicate the issue: 1) Upload hashed csv file 2) Go to System Performance tab 3) Choose System Demographics chart
