New flames have their own config so I think that's a "feature".
Just wish the guessing was better because at the moment the sound behaves nothing like how it was originally set up. I suppose the main "bug" part would still be that the int/ext sounds get swapped in some cases.
My bad, exterior flames were playing for interior views too (I assumed it worked the same as other audio events), will fix. As for guessing, I’ll try to collect some data on how flames were configured originally to try and reuse that.
Is fixed in 0.1.77 public?
Partially, but not really. Int/ext sounds have been fixed. The different flame behavior remains the same when new flames are enabled, nothing fixed there. Now there is a new issue: in exterior views (and maybe int, but it's too subtle for me to notice), the front and back of the car are reversed. There are louder backfire noises in the front of the car, and muffled ones near the actual exhaust.
When new flames are enabled, the conditions where flames appear change from default. It also seems like some audio events either do not occur or have new conditions for triggering.
Examples:
Car 1
New flames off:

Flame and popping sound after each up shift
New flames on:
Flames when redlining at idle, no flame when up shifting, sometimes a muffled popping sound. https://streamable.com/qdunpa
Car 2
New flames off:
https://streamable.com/iafhit
Flame and popping sound after each up shift. Listen to the popping sound inside/outside of the car.
New flames on:
https://streamable.com/v85amx
Flames and popping sound when redlining at idle, no flame or popping sound when up shifting. Listen to the popping sound inside/outside of the car again. The interior/exterior sounds seem to have inverted as the sound seems more muffled outside and louder inside.
