additional info: more =]

if I launch one item it is oversized. then when another is launched (say i'll
use
nm-applet and pidgin)

it goes back to normal. and stays till i restart tint2, which then the
processes repeats.

okay it is weirder. now it won't shrink back down and i can only produce this
with
pidgin.

i killed tint2. started nm-applet. it was fine in the bar. then i launched
pidgin.

it goes right under nm-applet. and is still oversized.

this shot is of that.

I see this as well with Pidgin. Skype/mitter/gstm don't do this though.

I'm pretty sure the issue here is that the tray fails to refresh correctly. A
similar
problem area is if you drag colors over it, it never redraws them. My guess is
the
pidgin icon loads initially at an oversized resolution but resizes itself
afterwards,
but isn't redrawn until another tray application is opened.

thanks for your feedback.

the systray implementation is not correct.
I think systray need some xembded code (according to specification).

can't work on tint2 this week...

@ eax.exe : thanks for the report.

I'm aware of this bug and can reproduce it here.
But I have 1 big project to develop before tint2.

and 24 hours by day is far too short :)

I have that problem with pidgin too... Pidgin alone is huge, then if I open e.g.
Transmission, both are ok... I close Transmission - Pidgin stays normal sized
but the
icon looks strange (with that white rect in the background)

Hi, the attached patch seems to fix the problem where pidgin's tray icon
appears way
too large.

(Please note that I don't check mail on this gmail account on a regular basis.
You
can reach me at tint2@<ROT13 encoding of my surname>.de :-) )

The recents updates fix the size problème but introduce a new bug : Pidgin
icon in
not refreshed. It stays in state "connecting" (the blue plug) after connection
is
effective.
I don't now if I should create a new issue report so I put this message here...

??

Original comment by thilo...@gmail.com on 13 Jun 2009 at 7:34

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago

Hi,
I still have the blue plug (months ago) but I do not use tint2. Here is what I
use:
* pidgin 2.5.6-1
* gnome-panel 2.24.3-1+b1
* skype 2.0.0.72-1
I do system updates every morning.
Under Debian GNU/Linux (kernel: 2.6.26-2-686 #1 SMP Thu Mar 26 01:08:11 UTC
2009 i686).
Regards.
