Background / Motivation

aria-expanded was added to the element that will be displayed / hidden, rather on the element that controls that behaviour
Gallery and slider buttons were missing visually hidden text
Gallery and slider buttons were missing focus indicator states

Approach

Updated various template and script files to update how aria-expanded is added
Added visually hidden button text
Removed outline: 0 from buttons to revert to default focus styles

Additional work

Added aria-controls to tab and accordion controls
Added and updated template docblocks
Removed necessary role semantics on page elements
