[#289] Use independent 'prop-types' package. #291

Addressing issue #289 React.PropTypes is deprecated in React@15.5.

@acdlite Could someone take a look at this PR to add compatibility with React 16? Is there someone else that has been maintaining this project that should get a mention instead?

It might be time to consider a community fork for this project, it seems unmaintained. AdHawk would be happy to lead that initiative if others will join.
