Francesca: Your interpretation was surprising to me. I always understood that the ace_profile parameter can only be included in the request with the null value, so that the client can indicate to the AS that it wants to receive the ace_profile back. I went through the relevant sections again, and the following text in 5.6.1. "Client-to-AS Request" is what I based my understanding on.
