What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Select Disable APM
2.
3.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I expect the tool to give me the option to "Enable APM".

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Latest

Please provide any additional information below.

Secondly, is there a Linux version of this? I noticed the problem in Ubuntu as
well. BTW, I have an ASUS 1015PED eee netbook with a WDC hardarive (not
Seagate) and it has the same issue. I'm really surprised ASUS does not have a
firmware fix for this.

PS: Shouldnt the default be to set APM to 254 and not 255? Disabling it seems
wrong when APM does serve a purpose. 254 seems to quiet my HDD as well.

APM is enabled by default. Any value less than 255 means that APM is enabled -
just with a different level. If feely that completely disbaling the harddisk
internal APM feature is not the right for you, just set it to your desired
level.

Running Linux I'd assume you run 'hdparm -B _VALUE_ /dev/sdX'
