Summary of changes:

uses https://github.com/earthstar-project/applet-control-panel to set up and read Earthstar config data
adds display name functionality (used in chat log and participants list)
adds participants list
adds online presence (used in participants lists)
slightly improved UI
major refactor and cleanup
