My proposal will be to keep this 1-hour format, but with two speakers/topics and:
Thanks for pushing this forward @zoometh. I think we all agreed on this initiative yesterday, and it should help in piling resources.
The format you propose seems solid and convenient. Understandably, it won't allow for deep dives, but I don't think that's the goal at this point, and we can always try to arrange something more significant if there's enough interest.
As I mentioned in the meeting, my understanding of each team's expertise and needs is severely limited. Also, it goes without saying, but my heritage and overall archaeology knowledge is severely limited, so i might have blindspot in critical areas. Maybe we could propose topics and presenters to cater the interest of the assistants?
Potential option include:
Just my input, but let's keep this discussion going.
At the last
Arches & Coffee
(05/07/23) we came up with the idea of a monthly 1-hour online meeting to discuss a technical issue/a technical feature related to Arches (e.g. ElasticSearch, IIIF, etc.). As we had originally planned, it was a 20-minute presentation followed by a discussion. We also mention that the main support of the presentation should be an open format (ex: Markdown) hosted here, in this GitHub organisation
PS: GitHub has a limit on assigning an Issue thread , which can only assign to 10 members, so @BAPAlveyCHIC and @jgregoriods are unassigned but very welcome to join.
