in the next version, a doubleclick on the split panel divider will close the
palette+properties (another doubleclick on the divider which is now located at
the rightmost pixels of the diagram will reopen it)
The palette+properties will still always be visible if you start UMLet (even if
it was invisible at the time you closed it) and you will not be able to access
the properties as long as the palette is invisible (because they are located
under the palette).
This would act as some kind of a "diagram-viewing mode" where you don't need to
manipulate the content of diagram-elements except for minor changes like moving
elements around.
