I added better fb logging in https://github.com/acidanthera/OpenCorePkg/commit/69ff426319579afbb6085fccb5eaab602f9f7337.
In addition to MmapDump, please redo the logs with it (also usb & ssd). Will appear soon on https://dortania.github.io/builds/?product=OpenCorePkg&viewall=true
I'll do it tomorrow, doesn't mmapdump printed memory allocations in log? I checked log file, seems it is there?

Hmmm, you are right. Checked the logs more carefully. Indeed the MMAP is there and mostly the same.

There is some issue with my device..I'll check it when I get it working
Same issue. I use the lastest commit of opencore in branch softkbd to test. The kdb icon still shown when booting from internal storage.
Sorry to say that my device is completely broken now seems... Looks like PCH got some issue, only a CPU replacement can fix it.. I may give up.. Hope someone can help with this issue
Bah, unpleasant. Actually we realised that the kernel boots fine on these laptops from internal storage, it is rather that nothing shows onscreen. Could it be some backlight problem?
If anyone wants to continue this, I need the logs with master version. From USB and from internal SSD. With DirectRendering = YES and DirectRendering = NO. A total of 4 files. Do not forget AppleDebug = YES.
I may be able to help once I get freed up, I'll let y'all know.
Hi @vit9696 , I have some time now, and I would like to help with this. Please just let me know what I should modify to start.
Well, not much is changed from the above message. Please try it. Also connect the laptop to ethernet, wait for a fair amount of time, and try pinging it. I wonder if it actually fully boots.
Hello @vit9696 I also have an HP laptop affected by this issue and I’m willing to help you out in testing in order to solve the problem with OpenCore’s incompatibility.
My HP is the HP Spectre x360 13-ac000ns (the ac0XX series), and my bios is F.51. Currently on macOS Big Sur 11.3.1 and using OpenCore 0.6.9 with everything up-to-date!
Should I upload my EFI folder first? Let me know where should I start, and see if we can all figure this out!

Can you upload your EFI folder first?
Sure thing, here it is! Can't attach them directly here, no idea why.
If you upload something, then it's better without ask for permissions

Try again, in theory it was public for everyone with the link already, but anyway, I've just modified its visibility again :)

Try this,, REMEMBER. Put this EFI in your Internal disk and boot.
When "BootloaderChooser" menu appear, select from "EFI\BOOTX\Preloader.efi" then press enter.
And it should go to GUI OC, then press enter in your macOS, can you boot to your system or not??
Give feedback soon.
I repeat, try this from your EFI of internal storage

Same result as always with the PreLoader.efi files, the small keyboard icon on top (see attached picture) and can select different boot options, but as soon as I select macOS, it freezes.
I can boot to Windows 10 as usual though, the problem is when booting with macOS. In verbose mode, I believe it appeared at the end a message like: Stuck in EXITBS:START
Did you see "BootloaderChooser" before select "Preloader.efi"???

I selected via the boot options of my HP (pressing F9 on startup to pause the normal boot process), and yes, I selected PreLoader.efi :)
It said, ENVY and Spectre got this problem, but honestly in "HP Envy 13-AQ0017TX" there is no problem directly boot from internal Storage with OC r0.7.0. I didn't try with old version of OC
I have this model here: HP SPECTRE X360 - 15T-EB100 TOUCH
@andreszerocross should I also try OC 0.7.0? I have the 0.6.9 release right now. Is there anything different about 0.7.0?
I have this model here: HP SPECTRE X360 - 15T-EB100 TOUCH
- mine has the 10th gen CPU, and UHD graphics so its definitely compatible (i'm on catalina right now)

I don't know, many article in hackintosh forum this case is only for HP Envy and Spectre only.
But for me, i just install Big Sur 11.3.1 in HP Envy 13-AQ0017TX and there is no problem boot from internal storage.
Is this for "Touchscreen" laptop of Envy and Spectre only??

I’ve seen that you have closed this, has this been solved already @vit9696 ?
No, we do not plan to investigate remotely and request those who own the hardware to contribute a patch.

Hi, I have an hp spectre x360 13-ap0003ns (intel i7 8565u, 8gb ram, FHD touchscreen, nvme...). I have succesfully installed Mac OS big sur 11.4 with OC 0.7.0. The problem is that I can not boot from the internal SSD. Could anyone help me please. I will upload any log you ask me, I can even do videocall if somebody is ready to help. I attach my EFI folder, as well as a video comparing the booting with and without USB. The only difference is that booting from internal SSD without the USB a keyboard icon appears and that it gets stuck.
Error video and EFI folder: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1HcKhtW231_CIjmfq5mMuYiJhOpjbfy0U?usp=sharing

The problem you're having is the exact same problem this thread was about. Nobody has contributed a patch = no fix. don't have the skills / the time to patch OpenCore. Your best course of action would be to switch to Clover 5137. It uses OpenCore and it's compatible with preloader.efi workaround.

Okey.... sad news... I will try that. Thank you.
I can privately share my clover configuration if you need. I'm running Monterey beta 2. I have i5-8265u ap000na spectre x360 1080p120.

Don't worry. I will firstly try to do it my self . In case I need it I wil ask you for it. Thank you.

Here's my whole EFI, meant for macOS 12 beta. If you use it with Big Sur, just in case replace everything in kexts folder.

Hi @vit9696 , would it be possible to you to try to contribute a patch or fix to solve this problem? You are the only one here part of the Opencore team. We would really appreciate if you or any of your Opencore developer team could try to solve this problem for next Opencore release, 0.7.2. I strongly believe this is a problem affecting plenty of users and it would be really helpfull. Thank you so much in advanced. As I have previously said, I offer my self to send any test file/result needed, I would also be in favour of doing a videocall if needed in order to fix it together.

Thank you so much, I will try it while I wait opencore to be fixed.
Not really possible without the hardware. And even with the hardware it will require time to explore.

Okey, I understand it is a lot of work @vit9696 ... and could you comment this problem among your team mates (other Opencore contributors)? Maybe one of them is ready to do it or has the hardware. Thank you.
I know it’s been a while but is there any update on this issue? I tried latest v1.0.0 release but that still has problem
@Babyyoda777 I guess no. Maybe you should go and get a new device. I sold my spectre
Hello there,
a bug exists in the UEFI firmware implementations of certain HP Premium Laptops with touchscreen (manufactured after 2017?) which causes the firmware to think, when you boot an .efi file from the internal storage, that the file is a diagnostic tool. Then it offers a touchscreen keyboard for the user. (see attached screenshot)
This bug prevents the macOS kernel from booting from internal storage, external one work fine. It just freezes at
#[EB|LOG:EXITBS:START]
When Clover was used, the workaround was to grab PreLoader.efi from efitools and rename the CloverX64.efi to Loader.efi, so the bootchain was PreLoader.efi -> Loader.efi and the touchscreen keyboard was gone in the Clover menu.
When using OpenCore this workaround does nothing. Touchscreen keyboard is still here.
After some research I discovered, that setting UEFI -> Input -> KeySupport to False fixed my problem, the touchscreen keyboard was gone and I was able to boot. But the new problem was, that OpenCore doesn't recognize any keyboard input and my trackpad, which is connected via SMBUS, stopped working in macOS. I also tried using OpenUsbKbDxe.efi, Ps2KeyboardDxe.efi, Ps2MouseDxe.efi and UsbMouseDxe.efi without any success. I also played around with the UEFI -> Input -> KeySupportMode setting, but it also changed nothing.
Some more ressources regarding this problem:
My device is a HP Spectre x360 - 13-ae001ng (Intel Core i5-8250U Kaby Lake Refresh with Intel UHD Graphics 620). The used OpenCore version was 0.6.4.
Let me know if you need any additional information and thanks for your fantastic work.
