OpenVPN shortcut not working on KitKat/Launcher3 #214

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Try to add the "OpenVPN shortcut" on the stock Kitkat launcher 
(com.android.launcher3, not com.google.android.launcher)

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
The widget is exected to be added, but the launcher freezes before the user is 
asked to choose a VPN.

What mobile phone are you using?
Galaxy Nexus GSM running CyanogenMod 11 nightlies

Please provide any additional information below.
