"An error occurred" -- Could not open location; you might not have permission to open the file. #13

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Click the categories tab, choose 预告短片，
2. Click the Movies tab, choose 第67届金球奖，
3. Click the Files tab, choose the file 7/7

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
On status bar it appear buffering then Playing but wont see the picture or 
sound then dialog appear "An error occurred" -- Could not open location; 
you might not have permission to open the file.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Totem Movie Player 2.28.2 install ppstream plugin follow by instruction, 
Ubuntu 9.10.

Please provide any additional information below.
Just following your instruction by step by step but still not working.

I've the same problem as yeuking report.
When you click on a new movie which I didn't watch before, I get this message
Could not open location; you might not have permission to open the file.
Close this message and play the same movie again, it will play less then a 
minute and 
stop.

I solved it with a chmod 777 -R /tmp/pps

i got the same symptom with no obvious reason, my plugin fail to open any 
location
from kan.pps.com since yesterday, it worked perfectly fine before. 
my network is fast enough, ppstream under virtualbox(xp) works smoothly as usual
i've google the problems and tried 

0 reboot
1 reinstall the plugin from PPA,
2 compile the plugin from source file 
3 chmod 777 the /home/user/.pps, 

but neither of them fix my problem.
