Hi Rufold,

Yes, check out the develop branch for the latest (and greatest). We will be cutting a long due release this week.

Stay tuned!

Thanks

Hi Raul,

Awesome. We are just working our way into 3D Slicer and the chest imaging suite here in Switzerland (Dept. of Surgery @ KSGR). Looking very much forward to the release and good to know that the suite gets updates.

Best regards Rudolf

Hi Rudolf.

Just to add that if you download the last stable version of Slicer (4.10.2) and install the Chest Imaging Platform extension, you have access to an updated version of the CIP tools that are available for Slicer. You can also download a pre-packaged Slicer with CIP tools installed from here: https://chestimagingplatform.org/download

Best,

That is awesome, works very well with 4.10.2 ... Do I get a message if the chest suite updates?
How would you recommend to show the constructed 3D models to other colleagues? Especially during the tests it would be very helpful to have something like a movie export or 3D-PDF export ... Thank you and have a nice day

CIP does not update automatically once the program is installed unless you do a reinstallation. To show the results, you can use the Screen Capture module https://www.slicer.org/wiki/Documentation/4.10/Modules/ScreenCapture

Thanks

Thank you. Will try that.

Hi Raul, 3d Slicer with CIP displays in the beginning: Not intended for clinical use, research only. We would like to use it for various indications, which include anatomical resection planning, This would clearly be a clinical use case. Any thoughts on that? is 3d slicer really used in research only? Thank you in advance ...

Hi Rudolf,

Slicer (or any of its extensions like CIP) is not a FDA (or CE) marked product. That being said, it is up to the user to use it in a clinical context. Slicer is used in a clinical research context as an experimental device with the proper ethical oversight in different institutions. It is then up to the user to define the proper intent of use and make sure that fulfills the local regulations

I hope this is helpful although I am not an expert in regulatory issues

Hi Raul,

Sorry to disturb again.

Is there any way or trick or parameter to get airway segmentation and endoscopy going? The current module only gives a very basic and rough airway segmentation with no details at the segment bronchial level. This is strange, because there would be segments to follow, the segmentation just stops and has only small "stumps" of segment bronchi.

Slicers's endoscopy module, when used on the segmentation results, shows large gaps in the airways - you can see through the walls.

I am quite lost here - thank you for any comment.

Best regards
