Low volume level

Comparing to the 1.5.2 version of SoundFlower the volume level is much lover!

My system is LeopardSnow 10.6.8 , I'm using AudioPhile USB sound card.

Utilities/Audio MIDI Setup -> change "Master" level for Soundflower (2/16).

I know! sliders are at full! when I select my original AudioPhile driver volume 
is much louder! 
I also have a problem because the card after a while humming and I have to 
manually specify output of the sound in soundflower.

I have the same issue. SFB v.1.6.6b, Montain Lion 10.8.2. Interestingly, I 
monitor a song through Headphones output, the overall sound is low even at full 
power. Then, I alter the output volume of Headphones at Preferences>Sound and I 
hear a really loud click, indicating what the loudness supposed to be. But it 
is not at all the level of the played song.

same issue; fixed by turning up the built-in output channel 1 and 2 volume in 
Audio MIDI.

I'm not sure why that effects Soundflower, but it does.

I had this problem when I had to manually install the soundflower.kext after 
the installer failed, and so didn't have Soundflowerbed installed or running 
(this was on a hackintosh Dell 10v running mostly vanilla 10.6.2, so that's 
likely why it wouldn't install). Going to Audio Midi Setup via AU Lab (using 
that run a systemwide equalizer), Pref > Devices > Expert Settings > Edit 
Device > Audio Midi Setup, either showed the Soundflower master slider grayed 
out, or only showed me Output and not Input.

So I manually installed Soundflowerbed. Clicking on the icon in the menubar, 
then Audio Setup, again took me to Audio Midi Setup. However, this time I could 
change the master slider on both the Input and the Output tabs for Soundflower. 
The input master level was at about 33%, raised it to 100% and was back in 
business.

FWIW, this was after I already had been using Soundflower at full volume. For 
some reason, either on wake from sleep, or after toggling the output btw 
Soundflower and built-in, the volume was mysteriously lowered. In searching for 
the problem, I uninstalled and reinstalled the Soundflower kext and reinstalled 
the appleHDA kext from Netbook installer, but that didn't seem to help. I just 
had to find the setting in Audio Midi via Soundflowerbed.

Or perhaps I'm crazy and I just missed the "Input" panel and was only looking 
at the "Output" panel the first time I was in Audio Midi Setup. Either way, 
check the volume settings on both.

I'm Showing only the slider for the speakers in the Midi Setup panel, no other 
output sliders. Trying to boost audio to ishowu captures. Soundflowerbed 
v1.6.2, MBP 3.1, OSX 10.6.8

i know this is an old thread but for those still looking...if volume is low, in 
Audio MIDI setup up, go to soundflower.  The master volume fader for me was at 
0db (100%) already.  I LOWERED it and it made something reset or  whatever 
because the volume RAISED.  now i was getting close to normal levels at 100%.  
I did the same thing again and it got louder again and back to normal.
