Both bishops on same colour in Modern chess. #6

modern chess1 In Modern Chess, both bishops are in dark squares. It would be fun if one bishop is in light square and the other bishop is in dark square, as in Chancellor Chess. Chancellor Chess is fine, in that regard.

It's not really a matter of being fun or not but that's simply what the rules of Modern Chess are. This variant was invented in 1968 by Gabriel Vicente Maura and implemented on Jocly by Jean-Louis Cazaux, the author of several books on Chess history and variants. There is no way we change the rules, unless we change the name of the variant. Note that the rules specify "If never played, one (and only one) Bishop can be switched with an adjacent Queen, Knight or Minister", so bishops can actually be placed on a white square.
