Feature request: Implement the same program to work with Linux. #6

Description

Try to port this program and make changes to it to make it work with Linux. This is a hard task and is valid for brownie points.

Prefered Implementation

Find other alternatives to the win10toast library for Linux and/or macOS. Keep the code simple and clean.

Things to note

Follow the same style of coding as the original code.
Do keep an eye out for the other two issues #3 and #4 and implement those as well to be awarded brownie points.
Comments are a requirement here.

Do I have to stick with the provided alternative for win10toast or can I look on my own? There seems to be a module that is slightly easier to switch to.

You can look for your own alternative as well, that was just a hint. You are free to use any library here as long as the compatibility and functionality remain consistent. Good luck! :)

@RakshithRAcharya You have to implement this program to work with Linux. Any distro is okay. If you can find a way to implement this program to work with all platforms, that's even better.
