Hi there @acomagu , this project is great, and I feel that it should have a license to make it clear what the authors and contributors intentions are for their code.
You're under no obligation to choose a license. However, without a license, the default copyright laws apply, meaning that you retain all rights to your source code and no one may reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from your work. If you're creating an open source project, we strongly encourage you to include an open source license.
In particular I hope to study this repository and add a similar effect baked in to Tide, however without a license I am not permitted to do so. In the spirit of open source I hope you will add a permissive license like the MIT one I have selected, but really any license would be better than none at all.
