The best way to fix this was originally to change the repo name from "acord-robotics/portal" to "acord-robotics/acord-robotics.github.io" as I couldn't figure out how to make the site default to the "/portal" link after logging in/out.
After renaming the repo, I thought this would be fixed. However, the same thing happened. This is because the files are on the "gh-pages" branch, and user branches can only be built on the "master" branch.
To close this issue, we need to switch the branches around.
