Mushlantis Episode 25 – What's happening

If you’ve been keeping up to date with my Minecraft Let’s Play Series on Youtube (@OpusTheRobot), you may have noticed that the 25th episode of Mushlantis is going to be a world tour. There’s not much that I’ve built, as I’ve worked on big projects and have torn some down over the year, however here’s the current plan for what we’ll be covering in Episode 25 (this list is in the order that we’ll cover it):

This will probably be around about 25-30 minutes. It’s been a few days since Episode 24 was uploaded, however I’ve been working really hard off-camera to prepare for this episode, including finishing the first floor of the house (the interior of the house is still empty at this point).

Follow this thread for updates to Episode 25.

Something that a few people that follow our news have complained about is the lack of a detailed mailing system. While subscribers to our blog get our latest posts in their inbox (thanks WordPress), there are some features missing from this primitive system. Because of this I’ve been searching around for plugins that work with WordPress for this purpose. And the answer that I’ve found is pretty popular – you may have heard of it. It’s Mailchimp.

Mailchimp is a marketing automation platform and an email marketing service. The platform is a trading name of its operator, Rocket Science Group, an American company founded in 2001 by Ben Chestnut and Mark Armstrong, with Dan Kurzius joining at a later date.

My plan: Make a brilliant base that I use to complete the quests (including terminals). Then create a "dome", or a mock-up, of this base after resetting the sim. Back it up either way!

Holiday Review

It’s school holidays now, so here’s a quick outline for my goals for these holidays:

Eve Online

  • Level up at least once in Exoplanet Hunters – Done (See Steam Account @cyriosity_rov or @droidology/irisdroidology
  • Complete 3 missions, at least 1 for silent coalition and 1 for NPC – 1 mission for NPC

No Man’s Sky

  • Build a little base – started, but want to build an aquatic base + at least 1 acord item. Currently building on a lush planet, with green grass, plenty of flora and fauna
  • Quicksilver – done, doing another mission (tame 1 animal)
  • Exploration – currently doing
  • Gathering – one of the main things I need to gather is salvage modules, a new starship (see NMS Starship catalogue on NMS gamepedia), carbon and other consumables for powering the base (solar panels are an alternative), and at least 1 acord item
  • Video

Homework

  • Chem – started
  • Physics – on the back-burner as the test is 3 weeks away
  • Maths – on the back-burner as the exam is 4-5 weeks away. However, I will be doing some maths and physics these holidays
  • Computer Science – started – Networking Assessment
  • Literature – kinda started
  • Ancient History – started, half-way through (Flavians)

Driving

1 hour – 40 minutes done so far

Other

Have a smashing good birthday – looking good so far..

Coding

  • Average 1 udemy lecture per day – on target
  • At least 1 github, gitlab contribution each day – still continuing, up to 212 day streak now…
  • Networking assessment for CSC at P.Mod – started

I’m having a look at some beautiful, premium themes for both Jekyll & Bootstrap on Themeforest. Soon I’ll figure out how to set them up and I’ll buy one. This is from Autism Association & parents have said yes. Just thought I’d mention this, will also mention it in the forum. I posted it here since it’s using Github pages and a readme. Currently using the p.folio theme from EcologyTheme for Bootstrap, will use the gh/id/otr theme for blog posts possibly, or the XCent Jekyll theme as a blog theme (XCent costs money). http://irisdroidology.github.io/portfolio

I’ve borrowed the “Impractical Python Projects” book (Starch free) from my local library (city of Melville). Learning a bit, especially on pylint & pip. Went to the Arduino night at the Artifactory last week (wednesday 13/14 nov 2019) and had a bit of fun there. Python Virtual Assistant now part of stellarios 0.3 alpha (see https://irisdroidology.github.io/portfolio/stelpyva3.html).
