Changing basemaps was sometimes slow (maybe hard to reproduce)
The control for changing basemap isnt' discoverable, especially when the sidebar is very long
Some kind of built-in tutorial / tips to point out useful controls, like streetview and changing basemap
(Note from Pete) when playing around with basemaps I realised zoomstack + street view tool is broken (EDIT: fixed)
Search / geocoder
Improvements here would've made a big difference / saved lots of time
Seeing results outside the study area aren't useful
(Note from Pete: I thought, given sometimes plans go slightly outside TA/LA boundaries that we should show external places but make them obviously different, and maybe sort by distance from centroid)
Consider other sources besides Maptiler
Being able to quickly highlight all schools, doctor offices, etc in an area could be helpful
Sidebar
After saving a feature, the list scrolling resets -- very painful for long lists
A modal for the form might be OK in some cases, if map context isn't needed
Hiding a scheme from the map should also collapse on the sidebar
Spurs
Being able to group several drawn lines and fill out one form would be useful
Some friction changing between snapped and freehand. Optionally show all snappable nodes. Maybe show this automatically when going from freehand back to snapped
Joining two lines would be useful
(Note from Pete) I also got the impression that somehow having a multiline would be useful. Needs some thought but I think it's possible if we think carefully about it (only give route snapper/user access to one linestring at a time) but still allow user to group multiple lines into one 'intervention'
Extend a route from start
Freehand polygon tool
Inserting a point in the middle got confusing or buggy; append and drag more intuitive
Maybe support both styles, switchable
General UI
Hotkeys for the draw tools
Undo in more cases (especially for deleting a whole feature) and redo
Add a "report a bug" tool
Display alternative routes differently on the map (maybe dotted line, maybe some transparency, idk)
Importing
Need lots of work if we want to properly support this
Consider more compact representation of empty fields
Georeferencing
Dragging the entire image could be helpful. Maybe a control point in the middle of the image, maybe the whole image
Maybe move the image in any mode, not just the georef tool -- but then be careful with the draggable point's size / conflicts with other things
(Note from Pete) I thought a potential option could be to have two image modes, one georef mode which moves according to your map movement and zooming, and a fixed mode where you can just place it on your screen and it stays in place/size regardless of you moving/zooming on the map
