Temporary workaround:

sudo rm -f /etc/apt/sources.list.d/archive_uri-*
sudo apt-get update

or

sudo apt-get update || true

tried with the workarround stll nothing

For me cleaning the tmp folder resolved the problem. I don't remember the original post where I found the solution.

It looks like a problem trying to access the archives via IPv6. I am seeing a similar problem.

Actually, it looks like the archive.ubuntu.com server(s) simply do not have jammy in their dists subdirectory. No idea what's up with that.

Reverting to Ubuntu 20.04 worked for me @Roman-Ka. So had to change away from ubuntu-latest to ubuntu-20.04 as a temporary fix until this bug that got introduced last night gets fixed

Update: It looks like my issue is related to my terminal having no internet connection at all. I can't ping Google or any other site. So it doesn't seem to be an Ubuntu issue per se. For anyone else having this problem. This might help: No internet connection on WSL Ubuntu (Windows Subsystem for Linux)

1 - the error indicates that files in /etc/apt/trusted.gpg.d/ are not readable however there is no read access limit on any of these files

2 - the error indicates that the was a problem when deleting files in /var/cache/apt/ and its subdirectories, but i did not find any files on those directories

Turning off the firewall in my antivirus solved the issue.

It got resolved when i changed my outboud rules to all tcp

I also experienced the same thing when I wanted to update, on the Ubuntu 22.04 server. What I did was make resolv.conf permanent and after restarting the server and updating again.

For me, it was my VPN. I was using a feature that allows me to stay invisible on LAN. the only 'con' is: I won't be able to access other network devices.So it seems this was blocking me to actually retrieve what I needed, for the installation. I could not ping google, however, once I turned it off I could. I tried installing whatever I had to install and I finally obtained the results expected. Meaning, no errors.

If you installed WSL with VPN connection is problem, you can resolve editing by: sudo nano /etc/resolv.conf `# This file was automatically generated by WSL. To stop automatic generation of this file, add the following entry to /etc/resolv.conf

generateResolvConf = false

nameserver xxx.xx.xx` Change nameserver with 8.8.8.8 and should try again to update. That works for me.

I'm facing a similar issue here, I get the "is no longer signed" and "403 Forbidden" errors on https://se.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/, see https://github.com/OwnTube-tv/minio-microk8s-ansible/actions/runs/8358359505/job/22879494106#step:3:92 for logs. Is it a server-side disruption from the infra maintainers?
