LED's not lighting up - "Error with connection device, verbose in logs"

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.Plugging Lightpack in and opening Prismatic
2.No LED's light up
3.Get error "Error with connection device, verbose in logs"
Also in the about tab i get "firmware read device fail"

What is the expected output? What do you see instead? Nothing
Windows Enterprise 64bit Service Pack 1

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Prismatic version 5.9.6 revision 20edb32

Please provide any additional information below.
I have two Lightpacks that display the same error.
Where are the logs kept? I would like to upload them.

they are in <home>/Prismatik/Logs. Just FYI Prismatik 5.9.6 is incompatible 
with Lightpack 7.5, try to use 5.10.4 instead from http://lightpack.tv/downloads

I updated the firmware to 7.5 and installed Prismatik 5.10.4. the unit now 
works fine.
I am having trouble getting two lightpacks to work together but will open 
another issue.
