No, can't upgrade. 10.8 is buggy...
On Kickstarter and lightpack.tv was told it works with 10.6.8. so why doesn't?

I have the same issue. I can not update to 10.8 yet - it has some issues. I
would really like to get LightPack to work on earlier versions of Max OS X

As soon as Apple introduced some critical features we have to use, there is no
way to provide backwards compatibility. Guys, Mavericks supports, Mac mini
manufactured on early 2009. We didn't know it will be a problem to update to
Mavericks.
We will try to provide you with separate compatible version. Sorry.

So no successes at all...

Mac mini early 2009 v1.1 doesn#t support Mavericks! So any compatible version
for 10.6.8? Cause this is the last working version...
