Can verify this issue as well:

Grab frequency fluctuates between 4 FPS and 8 FPS. General use of the lightpack
and watching videos is fine, however attempting to play any sort of game with
lightpack results in an extreme FPS drop.

Current computer specs are:

Windows 8.1 x64
Intel Core i7-4770K
32Gb of RAM
2 x Nvidia 770GTX 4Gb

It doesnt seem to be an issue with the game settings, as ive tried with various
games such as BF3, Diablo 3 , league of legends etc and all seem to have the
same amount of framerate drop when trying to use in conjunction with the
lightpack.

Changing in game settings has minimal effect.

I should also mention that the Lightpack grab frequency is always at an average
of 5 -6 FPS regardless of what I'm doing on my PC.

Works well on OSX with about 40 fps but on Windows 8.1 only about 5 fps and
extreme lag in the gui. No gaming or movies works.

Same problem here on my hackintosh. Works fine in Yosemite. Under Windows 8.1
it slows the entire GUI to a slideshow. Unusable.
