The game will only open to an image of a clock #39

im not tech savvy so im not really sure whats up, whenever i open the game it shows a small window in the top right hand corner containing only a stylized clock

hello! i think you posted the issue in the wrong repo and you're referring to lain-bootleg-bootleg instead. with that assumption, to start the game you need to press the bar right below where the clock is displayed (it has a slightly different color at the point where you need to click). look up "lain bootleg gameplay" or something on youtube to find a rough guide on how the game should be played.
