Can you pip install other packages? This doesn't seem like an issue specific to the CharLCD driver.
Yes, all other packages downloaded with pip3 work fine.
Please post the full command you are running and all of the output.
I am running "sudo pip3 install adafruit-circuitpython-charlcd". I have noticed that sometimes it works fine but other times it can't download it properly. I also have tried running it without "sudo".
The whole output is this:

It sounds like PyPI might be having some issues.
I have the same problem with sudo -E pip3 install adafruit-circuitpython-lis3dh
I got it successfully downloaded by going an apt-get update and setting the default timeout. Try it out!
sudo apt-get update
sudo pip3 --default-timeout=3000 install pkgname
good to hear, thank you for the followup @cemanughian im closin cause this is a pip/networking thingy not related to the github repo
Hi,
About four days I noticed that the library was not downloading properly through pip 3. I get the following message:
I've tried with many Pis and different Wifi connections. Any help would be appreciated.
