front end of kfm breaks in icon view

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Set listview to "no" in admin settings.
2. open KFM file manager online.  Functionality instantly breaks. Nothing
is functional.
3. Delete cookies to try again.  If listview is "yes" then everything works
fine.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Expect to be able to see thumbnails, click on folders, and use the front
end of the file manager.  Instead, nothing works if the icon view is used.
 As soon as it loads, everything breaks.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
The latest nightly build as of 2/3/2010. Windows XP.

Please provide any additional information below.
I am having another problem with the admin panel which I am not sure if it
is connected to this problem or not. I have reduced the image sizes to make
sure that isn't the problem. I had the thumbnails working when I had
version 1.3, but after upgrading, this problem occurred.

it's been established on the forum that this is not a bug in KFM, but a problem 
with
the PHP installation.
