in my opinion fire should be a weakness to vampires, same as silver and garlic... if you want to progress thru thaumcraft, then do it as a human or ask the server owner (or do it yourself) to edit the config files so that the fire weakness get deactivated for all vampires...
That's fair, I just ended up becoming human for the duration of my thaumaturging I also noticed another problem however. There's a mod that tweaks Vanilla blaze/ghast projectiles to be more fireball-esque and the Auromancy tab requires you be hit with a hot projectile, the blazes nor the firecharges shot from a dispenser work. I've gotten Sticky projectile and the other one, but I cant get that one through normal means

IIRC the quest book mentions this and I believe it has to do with Quark. You should be able to disable them from the Q menu.
after looking thru quark i only find an entry that let spawn blazes as groups in the nether on certain blocks... maybe @adam9899 can give a clue where to find the option to revert back the blaze attack to normal

When a player is a vampire from Vampirism it tweaks vanilla fire mechanics, making the player take more damage from fire, this in turn makes it so "Examine fire very closely" auromancy task is impossible. that github link also explains how to fix it
