Request: Mathematical notation (for programmers) #4601

Stumbled across this. What a great project! And what redemptive web "design" in accordance with the philosophy.

Would have loved a "mathematical notation (for programmers)" chapter. Though a seasoned programmer, even relatively simple MN makes my head hurt and triggers the flee instinct when looking at ML, etc. This would be helpful for many.

Because there already is a section statistical computing with Python, I think your suggestion would be an additional useful 101 the project could offer. Could resources like free-science-books and free-programming-books be helpful for you to start such a compilation?

As I was trying to imply, that would be the blind leading the blind. MN is (literally) greek to me. (Example below). My theory is that if somebody showed me the code that corresponds to the MN, I would get it in two seconds. I've heard that this is why teams of math geeks and code geeks have a hard time, because they come from different paradigms.
