Implement https://github.com/bheisler/criterion.rs ? and look into a way to see memory usage.

Some things that can be looked into:

[x] encode_selector crate, some things only need to be run once
[ ] Investigate format macro which isn't the most efficient way to concatenate strings (https://www.reddit.com/r/rust/comments/t06hk7/string_concatenations_benchmarks_updated/)

Closing for now, foundations have been laid. Can be looked at and revisited once code stabilises
