<no adaptation> not found for 'Choose Translation' dialog #28

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 2 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. In Help/The <no adaptation> button it is written:

'This method is the most general and preferred technique to make no
adaptation of a source text word or phrase.
...
Some words may or may not require a translation based on the context. In
these circumstances, <no adaptation> can be stored in the knowledge base as
one of the valid adaptations. So when Adapt It displays Choose Translation
dialog, you can select <no adaptation> along with any of the alternate
meanings.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

I did not find a way to store <no adaptation> in the Choose Translation dialog.
Does it simply work, to choose one item of the list in the Choose
Translation dialog, and then delete this chosen item in the running text?

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
AI 4.1.1./Linux

Please provide any additional information below.

You are correct that there is no way within the Choose Translation dialog to
create a
new <no adaptation> entry for the word in the Phrase Box.

Perhaps the wording of the Help topic might be clarified. We did not intend to
imply
that this action could be taken here, the assumption was that the user had
already
created a <no adaptation> entry by using the button in the Mode bar. The
comment was
intended to say that the user can select <no adaptation> as one of the
alternative
entries.
