AI Unicode 3.6.4 crashes when I Edit->Source & delete last word in text #4

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Be working on a text with free translations in it.
2. At the end of the text, select one or more words, including the last one.
3. Do Edit->Source, delete the text and hit Enter

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I expected the last words to be removed. Instead, AI crashes with an
invitation to tell Microsoft.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
3.6.4

Please provide any additional information below.

 See the attached screen shot.

At 13May08 the Edit Source Text functionality is being redesigned, so users
must
wait for a bug fix for this - it will be in version 4.0.0 when it eventually
comes
out. The following workaround will avoid the crash. Select an extra word to the
left
of the material to be removed; open the Edit Source Text dialog, remove the
unwanted
material but leaving the extra word that you do want to retain. Make sure
needed
punctuation is typed at the end. Click the OK button. (Submitted by Bruce

In the legacy version, this bug fix will be in version 3.7.0, due out probably
around September 2008 or perhaps earlier.
