Error in exporting text from Adapt It in RTF form #6

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Select Export Interlinear Text from the File Memo
2. Click OK in the Export Interlinear Document File
3. Select a location to save the document and save it.
4. Attempt to open the RTF document in Word 2003

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

The Interlinear Text should be seen as a Word document. Instead a Word
error message occurs stating:

Word was unable to read this document. It may be corrupt.
Try one or more of the following:
*Open and Repair the file.
*Open the file with the Text Recovery converter.

Please use labels and text to provide additional information.

There was a problem with RTF functionality in versions 3.6.0 and earlier.
Corrections for the problem were put into version 3.6.1.

If you do not have the most recent version of Adapt It, download it from
http://adaptit.ebt.cx/. Once the new version has been installed, (installing a
new
version should not affect your current work in any way), try the process again.

If this works, fine. Please let us know that the issue is resolved.
If not please open the project and document, using the File menu, Pack the
document
into a convenient folder. Attach the packed document to an email message to
Bill_Martin@sil_org. Reference this issue and explain the problem in the body
of the
email.

The following is a work around that you can use until the solution is
determined.

1. Open WordPad
2. Open the exported RTF file with WordPad.
3. Resave the file as RTF so that it overwrites the original file.

Word 2003 is often able to open the RTF file and display it correctly.
