Perhaps the timer can link tasks together in a certain pattern. An example 
could be that after a 40 minute task you get a 5 minute break but after the 
second 40 minute task you get a 20 minute break.

As a student who needs to do a lot of work. Having my breaks already sorted out 
for me would be really useful. It may also benefit people who work in offices 
to remind them to stand up and stretch their legs after a few hours of work.

I'm not sure if this is already a feature that I haven't seen but I haven't 
seen a post relating to the idea.
