Keep getting: You need a VRT account to play this program. #1178

Checked for the issue in Github but don't find anything related I think.

Describe the bug

I got empty categories folders again after an update (2.5.31). Downloaded another suggested zip (which solved that) and today version 2.5.32 because of issue below. Categories are visible again, they were with the other zip version also, but now I get: "This program cannot be played. You need a VRT account to play this program. Please register at...."

I tried clearing cache, tokens, changed password, none worked. Did not get feedback from GUI when clicking clear tokens, don't know if that is a thing, I would expect not.

To Reproduce

Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Go to ... Any program
  2. Click on .... Play
  3. Scroll down to .... No need to scroll
  4. See error "This program cannot be played. You need a VRT account to play this program. Please register at...."

Expected behavior

I expect the program to play. :-)

You should get a Kodi GUI notification "Successfully cleared VRT tokens." I guess there is something wrong with Kodi accessing the file system of your OS.

You probably get this error when caching the VRT MAX login tokens on the file system doesn't work.

Thanks for the feedback. This was probably related to the Opensuse Tumbleweed package. The problem now went away after yesterday's update. FYI I didn't get the "Successfully cleared VRT tokens." message, which makes sense since it was empty. When I tried to watch after clearing the tokens it didn't work earlier but with the latest package it does work.

Thanks again for the work you put into this! Will close the issue now.
