Hi, first of all a big thank you to all contributors! Is recording within scope of this addon?

No, since this would be against the terms of use of most services. You can use the video-on-demand feature of the services to view aired programs. They are also integrated in the PVR guide, so it should be quite user-friendly to play an aired program.
