Create simple reply rules RFC #162

Hi,

I think the tool is great, and I would like to create simple rules to change the reply depending on the sender or the time or content of the message. Combine this with a customizable button you could use this when you start driving to notify the recipient to give you a call.

Would like to get your feedback!

This might combine with #161 where you might define Reply Groups instead of just block + allow lists.

Hi Chris, glad you are liking it. Reply rules would be great. I would like that too but keeping the main interface simple is important to allow everyone easily use it.

Two ideas:

  1. Provide an option "Advanced mode" in settings which allows reply rules and other advanced features
  2. Another option is to leave this project as is and fork it to provide an advanced auto reply system with regular expression reply rules, Tasker integration and all fancy stuff.

But with current developer resources and many features and improvements waiting in line, this will take a very long time to even start working on it :)

+1 for Advanced mode.

But for your sake I'd keep these features on the backlog as nice-to-haves for the moment :) Might be fantastic features for other contributors to PR to the project.
