to change the license of the original program is generally a violation thus can
lead to prosecution, I suggest change it back to the original license.

The code belongs to all previous contributors to the snes9x code base, and you
have no right to claim ownership to it and change its license type.
You're no different to a code thief in this sense.

misapplication of an invalid license is already seeing the emulator distributed
for sale on some platforms, at the chagrin of the base code developers.
