5 years ago I might just add some black electrical tape or some other opaque material to the inside bottom - not sure how much clearance there is but it'll likely have to be a lot thicker in order to block all the light.
I printed a test piece with 1mm thickness instead of the 0.7mm and it wasn't significantly more opaque.. thicker than that and it'll start to look too thick, I think.
Just for tracking purposes at this point. I bought mine pre-printed so I haven't tried to edit the model yet. Noticed under low light that some backlight leaks through the front plastic of the cover plate (at the bottom, see pic below). Hoping just some additional thickness will help and shouldn't break the clearances required for proper fit.
