I am trying to create an autotools build system for your program. This is because I personally find programs using autotools much easier to maintain (as I am a maintainer). This is because all the needed stuff is supported by default without any more effort. Some support which is needed (in Gentoo Linux, atleast) is
respect CFLAGS
respect LDFLAGS
respect CC
respect DESTDIR
out-of-source builds
A build system also gives a more flexible way of selecting libraries (gstreamer in this case) and will enhance portability.
However, to create this build system I need to know what license your program is using. I can't find any LICENSE or COPYING file and there seems to be no notices in the file headers. Can you tell me the license of your program, please?
