Blank Screen on Octopus chromebook

When trying to open the recovery menu, it shows a blank screen.

Expected behavior I can blindly type in the correct keys (ESC + POWER + RELOAD, CTRL + D, ESC + POWER + RELOAD, 3, ENTER), and it boots into linux, but I need to see the recovery menu. Sometimes it just shows up, but I need this to be consistent. Has anyone found a way to fix this?

It might be that the image was not finished. Since I've experienced that too. But it also could be the media you're using, it could be faulty or very slow.
