Audio #23

Open morbhead128 opened 4 months ago

morbhead128 commented 4 months ago

Device audio only plays through the right speaker, and wired headphones do not work. Pulseaudio mixer shows multiple devices for sound (celeron/pentium silver processor high definition audio pro, 1, 2, etc), but only celeron/pentium silver processor high definition audio pro works

Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. turn on sound with profile Pro Audio in pulseaudio mixer
  2. play any audio file
  3. audio only plays from right speaker OR
  4. plug in headphones and turn on sound with profile Pro Audio in pulseaudio mixer
  5. play any audio file
  6. completely silent

Expected behavior audio plays out of both internal speakers or through headphones

i'd assume it's rather the device or shim, the geminilake audio drivers work on other devices perfectly fine (like fleex and vortininja) but not on my meep either even after doing a reinstall of the drivers so i doubt there is a fix, however bluetooth most likely would work but my own bluetooth speakers wouldnt show up in the bluetooth settings of my chromebook (if you cant access bluetooth settings try running sudo systemctl enable --now bluetooth.service in a terminal)

bluetooth speakers work fine for me, although i did install blueman. its just the device speakers that are still all wonky

kkilobyte commented 2 months ago

install of shimboot with the latest release worked on my meep and left audio works again
