Thanks for the suggestions @KyroOW.
For the first suggestion, wouldn't pinning Fluent Search to the task bar solve it? -
As for invoking on the Win
key, does it not show the taskbar when pressed while playing games?
In the nightly version, there is a setting to make Fluent Search ignore hotkeys on full screen apps like games, it might be useful for you -
Indeed that's one way to do it, however i'd prefer the icon to be a magnifying glass in this case.
And also, i would have liked if it could appear before the task view icon which is impossible since it's a system icon and they can't be re arranged, thanks MS.
Yes it does not show the taskbar if the key is set to Windows for invoking Search, that setting would indeed fix it though.
Edit: I tried pinning Fluent Search to the task bar but noticed when invoking Fluent Search by the task bar icon there is a delay unlike when using a hotkey where it is instantaneous, pretty weird.
@KyroOW which version of Fluent Search are you using? Nightly or stable? The startup time from taskbar has been improved in the latest nightly versions.
Yes i'm using stable, i might try nightly
I would like Fluent Search to be able to replace Windows Search (the one from the task bar) when you:
-Click the Search icon on the Task bar -Press the Windows key and start typing
For the second one i tried, in the meanwhile, to set the Windows key as the activator key for Fluent Search but i found i have no way to make the task bar appear when i'm using borderless fullscreen games, also it will obviously not show the start menu anymore.
I doubt the second one is possible especially with custom start menus like open shell or start11 but hopefully the first one is doable.
