The project was started as a way to learn how to create VSCode extensions. But it has grown to an extent where many people rely on the extension (Based on the install count on VSCode Marketplace).
It's time to re-write the whole extension by using the latest and greatest of VSCode.
Update and use the latest packages
Refactor code to follow best practices
Proper error handling
Add linting, formatting, commit standards
Add contributing guidelines

Really sorry for not looking into this for long. To be honest, I missed the issues and PR notifications in Github and was totally unaware.
