Widget too small #304

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.Install Shuffle
2.Add a task
3.Add a widget to one of the homescreens

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Expected: widget fills the home screen if there's place for it.
Now: Widget placed on a empty homescreen shows only 2 tasks.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Shuffle 2.0.2
Android ICS 4.0.3
Samsung Galaxy Note

Please provide any additional information below.
This worked for me on stock Android GB 2.3.6 that shipped with my phone.

The widget is resizable. You can adjust it to your needs. It can either fill up
your homescreen or show nothing just Shuffle's logo and a number.

The latter thing (resizing so no tasks are shown) should not happen. I don't
know yet if this issue is the right place or i should open another one.

How can I resize the widget then?

Add the widget to your home screen, then long-click on it. Then you should see
a blue frame around the widget. Use this frame to adjust the size.

You can also check out "go launcher" or other launchers. The standard android
home screen is not the best. At least not on bigger smartphones (got a galaxy
nexus which in comparison to the note is a small phone) I switched back right
now to check, how resizing works.. and got stunned by how much space was wasted
when using standard launcher ;)

Thanks for the pointers. With the "Go Launcher" (Go Launcher EX to be exact) I
can resize the widget indeed. However, using the standard launcher the blue
frame doesn't show up and I simply cannot do this. Maybe this is the problem
with this particular version of the ICS (4.0.3).
