Why did you decide to delete all relevant code in this project?

Hello,

Santo Fortunato (one of the paper coauthors) and I have made available an independent .zip file of the repo available on his website here . Additionally, I have forked this repository and will be responsive to issues. That repository can be found here. Both of these locations include the changes from #3 generously offered by @larsjeh Lars Hopman and a note of this has been made in both READMEs (which differ marginally discussing the code location).

I'm sorry to say I cannot offer an explanation to your actual question, @franktakes , beyond that the repository owner will not be maintaining the repo going forward. While the codebase is planned to remain largely unchanged, as previously mentioned I will be responsive to issue boards and pull-requests on the fork available here.
