I would be great if mdEditor could import ISO-19115-2 XML metadata to populate a record for further editing. This issue was listed in the desired features on the wiki page but has not been implemented in the mdEditor version above. This is becoming a larger problem as the US Fish and Wildlife Service and others are starting to use and create more metadata, so I would like to help promote this issue and feature request. Some people are required to produce metadata using other tools (Axiom Research Workspace as required by Gulf Watch Alaska and AOOS), but then we currently have no way to use or translate this metadata into a form used for editing here in Alaska FWS (mdjson) or the Department of Interior.
From the wiki feature list:
Loading/Population of mdEditor
Formats
Required
ADIWG JSON
mdEditor Native JSON
Desired
ScienceBase JSON
XML (NOTE: NKN feels strongly that this should be a requirement at least for ISO-19115-2)
Issue: import ISO 19115-2 XML
mdEditor Version (find version under settings): 0.10.0+b30b3f9f
