[Feature Request] Blender Export Plugin #9

I've recently learned about blender home builder and started designing a home using it. Would it be possible for you to check it out and see if its something you would be interested in? The software is free with a few starter assets but assets can be imported and created as well.

Hello @ikrowni, I know blender (but I'm not an expert). It is true that it is the most used 3d modeling tool but it requires a long learning curve and for floor plans Sweethome3d is much simpler and you have a very big library of furniture. Blender allow the export to obj and glb format but I have not really tested how it works with the card (it can work): it is important that the name of the exported objects are preserved across subsequent export of the model otherwise you will have to rebind all objects to home assistant entities. For all advanced functions (ex. levels) the ExportToHASS plugin is only available in Sweethome3d and I do not plan to develop the same for Blender; maybe in the future, who knows.

Hey thanks for the consideration at least. I was just kinda pumped when I found out blender has a home builder version now. When I finish redesigning my house in that maybe I'll take a look and see what needs done to make a plugin for it. But if I'm being honest I doubt I'll be up to the task.

Hey @ikrowni, sorry I did not get that it was a special version of Blender. So please go ahead to do some test. If you get to export the model do not hesitate to share with me files so that I can evaluate the gap and maybe it is not that complex to create a plugin.....

Awesome I'm glad you checked it out in more detail. I've played with it for the past couple of days and love it so far.
