Design suggestion for the TC/HK 艹 grass radical #211

Prerequisites

Description

There’s two type of 艹 radical. One is three-stroke form 艹 using in JP/KR/SC, and another is four-stroke form ⺿ using in TC/HK. I’ll call the 艹 radical grass radical in this issue. There’s some glyphs using four-stroke form grass radical in Adobe-Japan-1. Like 菓󠄁(AJ 13667, shs 62626), 苅󠄁(AJ 13687, shs 62618) and 蕃󠄁(AJ 13990, shs 62641). grass-radical-in-AJ

But the four -stroke form grass radical in TC/HK seems to be using a different design of it. As the image below: shs-TC-grass-issue The gray outline is the overlapping of the 3 Adobe-Japan glyphs using four-stroke form grass radical. And the black outline is a random TC glyphs with four-stroke form grass radical. We can see that there is a major difference in the gap of the 2 crosses, which has too much space and too close to the right side. And some minor differences in the two sides of the horizon strokes and the position of the vertical strokes.

I suggest that TC/HK should use the same design of four-stroke form grass radical of JP which is already in Source Han Serif (or Kozuka Mincho).

I modified a glyph in Source Han Serif to show the exact differences between the TC four-stroke form grass radical and the JP four-stroke form grass radical, as below: grass_df

Also note that Source Han Sans has the same issue: sans
